Mary Pat Oliver is a passionate watercolor artist based in Lakewood, Ohio. With her recent retirement from her banking law practice, she is delighted to have more time to focus on watercolors. A student of noted watercolor artist, Patricia Hanahan Sigmier, Mary Pat focuses on creating fresh, impressionistic work inspired by the many things she loves— gardening, travel, architecture, interior design, animals, the Emerald Necklace (CLE Metroparks), and our beautiful Lake Erie. While she loves working in her studio, Mary Pat also loves the challenges of plein air painting and the impact that changing light and weather patterns have on her watercolor creations. The parents of 4 grown children, Mary Pat and her husband, Jim, reside along Lake Erie with their lovable yellow lab, Peaches. Mary Pat is an Associate Member of The Ohio Watercolor Society, serves as Chair of the Board of Directors for the Beck Center for the Arts, and enjoys hosting solo exhibits as well as participating in group show.
